It was only a little busy at this years fall rally.


Actually, you needed a can opener to squeeze in more bikes on Saturday. The next rally is May 2008, but don't forget where you parked.

Are we Having Fun Yet??

You can feel the excitement as the boyz (ladies too) are back in town. The weather is perfect, although it is a tad bit hazy, however the location is perfect, and the choppers as always are purrrrrfect. Standing room only is the prediction so be sure to arrive early, to ensure a good seat and a great view of the festivities.

A brief walk though the parking lot reveled over a 100 motorcycles from all over the US including CA, FL, MD, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, SC, TN, VA, WV and this is just the first day.

Highlights of the day includes a free t-shirt give-a-way, Spank the Monkey and Choke the Chicken contests. However the real highlight occurred when Jamin' Jamie modeled the correct way to put on and take off a pair of pink leather chaps as part of the Red Cross Auction. By the way the sound of cameras clicking was louder than a passel of Harley's starting up.

Safty Tip #1

According to The National Transportation Safety Board the yearly number of deaths in motorcycle related fatalities has more than doubled in the last ten years, more deaths in fact than the combined total of all people killed in all aviation, rail, marine and pipeline accidents, with head injuries being the number one cause of death. The numbers are so scary the National Transportation Safety Board unanimously approved motorcycle safety recommendations requiring states to mandate riders to wear helmets.

We know that many visitors Myrtle Beach Fall Rally come from areas where the helmet laws are different. Here is a reminder of the the South Carolina Helmet Law.

Title 56. Motor Vehicles. Chapter 5. uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways. Article 29. Motorcyclists; Rights and Duties Thereof. Section 56-5-3660. Helmets shall be worn by operators and passengers under age twenty-one; helmet design; list of approved helmets. :

"It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of twenty-one to operate or ride upon a two-wheeled motorized vehicle unless he wears a protective helmet of a type approved by the department. . . ."

Jamin' Leather neither approves or disapproves in the law. Jamin' Leather wants you to have a great time and return home safely.

I'm an Weenie

To most, this what motorcycle rallies are all about. I/we/they all think bite the weenie, suck, bang, blow, bobbin for dildos all have something to do with sex, when in fact they are typical of the sexual euphemisms used to describe games that are played at most motorcycle rallies. Personally I'm waiting for burping the worm in the mole hole, parking the pink plymouth in the garage of love(Hope the boss/wife doesn't see this one), zallywhacking (Mommy what's a zally?) to become acceptable game names. That'll really get them thumpers going.

The more obvious choices, wet t-shirt contest, mud wresstling, pudding wrestling , beer belly contest, frozen t-shirt contest, hot buns, shake the buns, these are easily understand and shunned. Good old fashioned, clean American sex is a favorite for being ????.

But that is only the tip (no pun intended) of what happens. There are also:

What are all of those games about? I haven't got a clue. I do know that in the world motorcycles nothing is as it seems. Game names with sexual innuendos that have nothing to do with what they are implying, just a come on like the whores on 7th avenue ( I am a Rock). Christian MCs (who wouldn't harm a fly) with riders that would scare the bajeebers out of granny on a dark street or a lite for that matter.

Founded by Clara Barton in 1881 the American Red Cross has served in every major war and disaster providing much needed care to allied troops home and abroad. The Red Cross continues to serve wherever and whenever there is a call for emergency care in times of disaster. They are as much a part of the Myrtle Beach is as a hand to a gesture. Caring for needy after Hugo, supplying blood, food, water, clothing, medical supples and housing.

Since 2003 Jamin' Leather has proudly donated thousands of dollars worth of leather products turning over to the Red Cross 100% of the proceeds raised. The last three years alone the auction has raised:

If Camp Ramada is your style, there are well over 450 hotels with in excess of 45,000 rooms available or if you are like me and prefer the open sky there is Myrtle Beach State Park with plenty of camping as well as numerous private campgrounds in the area.

Because Myrtle Beach has such great weather there are business that are only available during bike week, as well as host of vendors that cater to every aspect of motorcycles and motorcycle riding not to mention that there many local business that specialize in motorcycle paraphernalia.

Daytona Beach, FL may have its racetrack and a few open spaces to ride but with more than 1800 full service restaurants you'll never have travel far to find a great dining experience. If you still feed the need for speed there is NasCar Park

My number one favorite reason though is Jamin' Town, strategically and conveniently located in Surfside Beach between Harley Davidson Dealer and Suck Bang and Blow, located on the corner of 8th Ave. South in Surfside Beach. Yuppers, this is a shameless plug, after all.
